Naranga Sponsors Operations Summit at Upcoming IFA Show

By Nabiha Balala

IFA 2017

The 57th annual IFA Convention – the premier event for franchises and the perfect way to kick off the New Year – is quickly approaching. This must-attend convention is coming back to Las Vegas this year from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1.

Surrounded by thousands of franchise industry leaders and experts, attendees will be able to gain firsthand insight and exposure regarding the latest advances in the industry. While 70 percent of franchisor attendees at 2016’s show were industry executives, we expect an increase in that number this time around.

The 2017 show has a robust schedule, offering all sorts of informative general sessions, roundtables, luncheons and more. And Naranga is excited to play a bigger part in them than in previous years.

Along with exhibiting throughout the event, we also are sponsoring the Operations Summit. Centralizing operations is one of Naranga’s strongest passions and one of the most popular solutions we provide, so hosting this summit was an easy decision to make. The summit will be broken down into two back-to-back sessions:

Session 1: Tips for Building a Successful Franchise Business Operation (for emerging brands)

Moderator: Julie McBride, senior consultant, social franchising, MSA Worldwide

Speakers: Paul Pickett, chief development officer, Wild Birds Unlimited; Michael Tapp, president, Interstate Battery Systems of America and Interstate Battery Franchising & Development; Chris McCuiston, co-founder and CEO, Goldfish Swim School Franchising

Session 2:  Tips for Evolving an Established Franchise Business Operation (for mature and/or medium to large brands)

Moderator: Kay Ainsley, CFE, MSA Worldwide

Speakers: Courtney Roberts, CFE, VP of operations, REGIS Corporation; Michael R. Brodarick, general counsel, Puro Clean; Mike Lester, brand president, The Melting Pot, Front Burner Brands

As you can see from the details of both sessions, the Operations Summit will be beneficial to all brands. Separate lectures based on the maturity of brands will help present specific and relevant educational points to help each brand grow.

Other interesting presenters include Tim Ferriss, the New York Times best-selling author of The 4-Hour Workweek, and Marcus Buckingham, a four-time NYT best-selling author and leading business consultant, who are both featured speakers at the opening general session. Along with Tim and Marcus, you can expect the following experts to deliver insightful sessions:

  • Dave Mortenson and Chuck Runyon, Anytime Fitness co-founders (Tuesday Super Session speakers)
  • Stephen M.R. Covey, author of NYT best-selling Speed of Trust (Mini-Super Session speaker)
  • Eric Chester, founder and CEO of Reviving Work Ethic (Mini-Super Session speaker)
  • Shep Hyken, Shepard Presentations (Mini-Super Session speaker)

We’re ready for IFA 2017 and are excited to share our philosophy and solutions with attendees. If you’re interested in expanding your franchise network, this is a show you do not want to miss. Be sure to stop by and visit us at booth 711!
